Skip Martinson

Henry “Skip” Martinson is a Managing Director on the originations team and is based in Charlotte, NC. He specializes in Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac and proprietary bridge lending with a focus on conventional multifamily and student housing properties. Martinson has a commercial lending track record that spans more than 20 years, during which he has sourced, underwritten and closed more than $5 billion in real estate loan transactions. 

Before joining NewPoint in 2022, Martinson was a Senior Vice President at PNC Real Estate, where he covered the Southeast region and beyond, servicing a client base of regional developers, REITs and institutional investors. Prior to PNC, Martinson originated Agency, conduit and structured finance loans across the Southeast with Arbor Realty Trust. Before Arbor, he was with Wells Fargo’s Real Estate Merchant Banking group working to source and underwrite highly structured bridge and mezzanine loans.

Martinson holds an MBA in Finance from William & Mary and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Hobart College. He is also a CFA® charterholder.
