Tonya Barnes Joins NewPoint as Managing Director, Head of Closing
Irvine, CA (August 12, 2022) – NewPoint Real Estate Capital (“NewPoint”) announces that Tonya Barnes has joined the firm as Managing Director, Head of Closing. Based out of Irvine, CA, Barnes is responsible for overseeing and streamlining all closing and transaction management activities.
Barnes brings over three decades of diversified real estate banking experience, having handled closings for a variety of property types, including multifamily, affordable housing, seniors housing, manufactured housing and student housing. Prior to joining NewPoint, Barnes served as Executive Vice President overseeing the property management division for multifamily and affordable housing investor Avanath Capital Management—returning to the firm after previously serving as Senior Vice President. Barnes also served as Vice President and Closing Manager with KeyBank Real Estate Capital, where she led a team responsible for closing between $4 billion and $6 billion of Agency loans on an annual basis.
