Jay Blasberg

Jay Blasberg is an Executive Managing Director on the NewPoint originations team based in Orange County, CA. He was previously with Barings Multifamily Capital, leading West Coast originations, prior to the acquisition by NewPoint. He served in various roles at Barings, including originations, trading, management and National Production Manager, for a time.

Prior to Barings, Blasberg was a commercial mortgage banker for his own company, providing correspondent life company loans for all commercial property classes, in addition to specializing in multifamily agency loans, including small loans, affordable housing loans, larger market rate loans and loan pools. He has originated over $10 billion in multifamily loans over the course of his career and originated his first Freddie Mac multifamily loan in 1982.

Blasberg is a graduate of the State University of New York with a Bachelor of Arts in English and Journalism with a minor in Psychology.
