Josh Lurie

Josh Lurie is a Director, Originations at NewPoint, based in the firm’s New York City office. In this role, he is responsible for sourcing, structuring, and executing multifamily financings through Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, and NewPoint’s proprietary lending platforms.

Prior to joining NewPoint in March 2026, Mr. Lurie built a rapid and distinguished career at Freddie Mac Multifamily. He joined the Southeast Regional Production + Sales team as an analyst in November 2020 and earned five promotions in under five years, ultimately rising to Senior Producer in August 2025. During his 2.5 years as an account lead, Mr. Lurie closed over $6 billion in transactions. Most notably, in 2025 he led the company nationally in both loan volume and hit rate, finishing the year as the only producer in the country to surpass $3 billion in closed business.

Mr. Lurie holds a Bacher of Science in Finance from University of Maryland’s Robert H. Smith School of Business and a Master’s in Real Estate from Georgetown University, where he completed a double concentration in Finance and Development.
