Kevin Laidlaw

Kevin Laidlaw is a Managing Director on NewPoint's originations team focused on the seniors housing and healthcare sectors. He is based in Chicago and serves clients across the country.  

Prior to joining NewPoint, Laidlaw was a Managing Director at Alder View Capital, where he assisted with the launch of the firm before it was integrated into NewPoint. Before that, he spent 17 years at Lancaster Pollard, which eventually became Lument. During his tenure with those firms, Laidlaw served in various roles within the seniors housing and healthcare sectors. As an approved underwriter, he first held credit-focused roles, serving on the team's credit committee and providing transaction oversight. Laidlaw was then a founding member of the firm’s M&A practice, overseeing sell-side, buy-side, and other transaction advisory services. He then became an originator, leading clients through financing transactions across mortgage lending, real estate private equity, and proprietary lending platforms as a licensed investment banker. Over the course of his career, Laidlaw has closed over 230 transactions exceeding $3.4 billion in total value. 

Laidlaw graduated from Denison University, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and was a member of the varsity football team.
