Maureen Morais

Maureen Morais is a Managing Director and the Head of Human Resources at NewPoint. She joined the firm in June 2022, bringing with her over 20 years of experience in operations, talent management, financial reporting and accounting within the real estate lending and financial services sectors.

Prior to her current role, Morais served as the Managing Director of Operations, driving operational excellence and efficiency across NewPoint’s organization. Before joining NewPoint, she held several leadership positions, including Chief Financial Officer at Nextres and Amres Corporation, and Controller of the servicing division at Planet Home Lending. Morais also spent nine years at Capital One and its predecessor Beech Street Capital, where she oversaw servicing operations, financial and treasury management, and accounting. Earlier in her career, she held various accounting and audit roles at the Federal Agricultural Mortgage Corporation (Farmer Mac), a publicly traded GSE, and at PriceWaterhouseCoopers.

Morais holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from the University at Buffalo and is a certified Project Management Professional.
