Michael Comparato

Michael Comparato is the Chief Executive Officer of NewPoint Real Estate Capital, where he leads the strategic direction and growth of the firm. He also serves as President of FBRT and is a Senior Managing Director and Head of Commercial Real Estate at Benefit Street Partners.

Mr. Comparato joined Benefit Street Partners in 2015, bringing with him a wealth of experience in commercial real estate finance. Prior to that, he was head of U.S. Equity Investments at Ladder Capital, where he led the firm’s largest team focused on originating CMBS loans, structured/balance sheet loans, mezzanine financing, and strategic asset acquisitions.

Earlier in his career, Mr. Comparato served as President of BankAtlantic Commercial Mortgage Capital (BACMC), the CMBS affiliate of BankAtlantic, overseeing all day-to-day operations. He also previously led Compson Holding Corporation, where he managed equity investments across a diverse portfolio of commercial real estate assets and publicly traded REITs.

Mr. Comparato received his Bachelor of Science degree, Summa Cum Laude, from Babson College.
