Tom Peters

Tom Peters is a Director of FHA Business Development with NewPoint. He is responsible for originating and leading multifamily, healthcare and seniors housing transactions across NewPoint’s FHA/HUD platform. He is based in Vancouver, WA.

Prior to joining NewPoint with its acquisition of HHC Finance, Peters held the same role with HHC Finance. He managed FHA/HUD originations and assisted with technical areas of underwriting. Prior to that, Peters was part of the group that formed ACRE Capital, which was later sold to Barings. Before that, he was responsible for managing CWCapital’s Western Region with a focus on FHA/HUD, Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac originations and underwriting.

Peters has 40-plus years of experience in the mortgage banking business. He was a driving force in developing HUD's FHA MAP and LEAN underwriting programs and has originated over $34 billion of loans during his career, including $24 billion of FHA-insured multifamily and healthcare loans.
