Christopher Honn

Christopher Honn is a Managing Director on the NewPoint originations team and is focused on seniors housing and healthcare lending. He is based in Chicago and serves clients nationwide.

Honn has more than 35 years of experience in providing debt solutions to the seniors housing and healthcare industries and has built several originations platforms. His primary clients include developers, private equity firms, owners and operators on a national basis. Honn is an expert in Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, HUD/FHA, proprietary and taxable/tax-exempt bond financing. Prior to joining NewPoint, Honn served as a Managing Director at Regions Bank, where he worked to create the firm's seniors housing platform and closed its first seniors housing loan. Before that, he managed Berkadia's seniors housing and healthcare mortgage banking and underwriting team. He also served as Director of Fannie Mae's Seniors Housing Program for 12 years, where he worked to increase the Agency's seniors housing loan portfolio seven-fold to a peak of $14.6 billion. Additionally, Honn has held positions at Stephens Inc., Banc One Capital Markets and American National Bank. 

Honn holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a Minor in Economics from Illinois State University. He was a board member of the American Seniors Housing Association (ASHA) from 2003 to 2018.
